Police searching for Ohio auto shop shooting suspect

YOUNGSTOWN — A warrant has been issued for Kurtis Townsend, 25, who is accused of shooting a garage employee during an argument over an auto repair in September.

Townsend faces a felonious assault charge, a second-degree felony, according to court records.

The warrant, filed Monday in municipal court, stems from an incident that occurred around 4:30 p.m. on September 13 at a garage located at the intersection of South and East Indianola avenues.

Police reports indicate that an argument over a vehicle repair escalated, resulting in Townsend allegedly shooting an employee.

The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment, while Townsend fled the scene before police arrived.

Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Townsend.
