VIRGINIA — A large-scale search is underway for a 61-year-old man who went missing Saturday near the Lewis Falls area of Shenandoah National Park.
Park officials said Robert Bieri was last seen off-trail on July 5.
He was reported missing to park rangers later that evening, prompting the launch of a full search operation.
Bieri is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 205 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a short-sleeved red shirt, green shorts, a fanny pack, glasses, and tennis shoes.
The search is being led by Shenandoah National Park Search and Rescue teams, with assistance from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the Virginia State Police.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen Bieri or has information on his whereabouts to contact Shenandoah National Park.
