VIRGINIA — The Virginia State Police have issued a Senior Alert for a missing 72-year-old man from Salem who may be in danger.
Robert Kenneth Mitchem was last seen around 7:41 p.m. on Friday, walking away from LewisGale Medical Center on Electric Road.
Authorities say he left the hospital on foot and has not been seen since.
Mitchem suffers from a cognitive impairment, and police believe his disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety.
He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 160 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair.
He may be wearing a green shirt, blue jeans, a black jacket, and a gray ball cap.
