Police searching for missing person in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man from Newport.

William Joseph Meadows, 63, has not been seen or heard from in several days, according to the sheriff’s office.

He has been officially entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a missing person.

Meadows is described as a white male and is known to drive a black 1998 Chevrolet GMT 400 pickup truck with North Carolina registration VDE-9000.

Anyone with information about Meadows’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Carteret County Emergency Communications Center at 252-726-1911.
