MICHIGAN — Michigan State Police are searching for a man who went missing after a single-vehicle crash late Monday night on Interstate 94 near Marshall.

Troopers responded to the crash around 10:45 p.m. on I-94 near 15 Mile Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle but the driver was not there.

Police identified the driver as Raymundo Garcia of Lansing. Investigators believe Garcia may have been injured in the crash and left the area.

Authorities searched nearby areas and contacted businesses, hotels and gas stations in an effort to locate him, but he had not been found as of Tuesday afternoon.

State police also contacted Garcia’s family, friends and coworkers, but none had information about his whereabouts. The case is being investigated as a missing and endangered person situation.

Garcia is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 180 pounds, with brown eyes and a bald head. Police said they do not know what clothing he may have been wearing.

Anyone with information about Garcia’s whereabouts is asked to contact Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch at 269-781-0911 or the Michigan State Police Marshall Post at 269-558-0500.
