ALABAMA — Authorities are searching for missing boaters after an aluminum fishing boat collided with a commercial tugboat Saturday morning on Pickwick Lake near Florence Harbor.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the passengers on the fishing vessel were thrown overboard during the crash, which happened around 9:15 a.m.
The United States Coast Guard, ALEA’s Aviation Unit, and ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division are assisting in the search.
No further details about the number of missing individuals or their identities have been released. The incident remains under investigation.
