FLORIDA — Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching for a missing 13-year-old boy with autism in Maitland, authorities said.

The search is focused around Lake Sybelia Drive, where a large police presence was reported Saturday afternoon.

Maitland police said Na’Sean Kirkland and his brother, who are both autistic and non-verbal, were reported missing around 1:30 p.m. The brother was located a short time later but was unable to provide information about Na’Sean’s whereabouts.

According to his parents, Na’Sean has left home and school on several occasions in the past and is often found near pools or other bodies of water. Officials said he has limited swimming ability and is considered endangered.

Authorities said Na’Sean was last seen wearing a black shirt.

Search efforts include assistance from multiple agencies, including the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Winter Park Police Department, Orlando Police Department and Orange County Fire Rescue. A helicopter and water rescue teams are also being used in the search.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Maitland police. The search remains ongoing.
