OHIO — Police in Cleveland are asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed an electric scooter rider earlier this month.
According to the Cleveland Division of Police, the crash occurred March 9 around 10:46 p.m. at the intersection of West 14th Street and Fairfield Road.
Investigators said a black or dark-colored vehicle traveling southbound on West 14th Street struck the scooter rider from behind and then fled the scene without stopping.
The victim was transported to a hospital with multiple fractures and internal injuries. Although initially released, the rider later died Saturday from complications related to those injuries.
Police said the department’s Accident Investigation Unit has followed initial leads but has not yet identified the suspect.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Accident Investigation Unit at 216-623-5295.
The investigation remains ongoing.
