Police searching for fugitive wanted in Virginia and North Carolina

VIRGINIA — Law enforcement is searching for a man accused of multiple acts of domestic violence in Henry County, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said deputies responded to a residence on Virginia Avenue in the Collinsville area after a woman reported a domestic incident.

According to investigators, the victim told deputies she had been assaulted by her boyfriend at the residence where they were staying. Officials said the victim also reported multiple acts of violence and alleged threats against her life involving a firearm.

As a result of the investigation, authorities obtained warrants for 35-year-old Christopher Thomas Shepard.

He is wanted on multiple charges, including rape, object sexual penetration, strangulation, abduction, assault and battery of a family or household member, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Deputies said Shepard is also wanted in North Carolina for a probation violation and is believed to be from Graham, North Carolina, with limited ties to Henry County.

Authorities executed a search warrant at the residence, but Shepard was not located.
