OKLAHOMA — Authorities are searching for an inmate who walked away from a correctional facility in McAlester, according to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Officials said 36-year-old Robey Butler, an inmate at the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center, unlawfully walked away from the facility at approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The Department of Corrections described Butler as a white male who is serving a six-year sentence for child neglect out of Sequoyah County.

Authorities urged the public not to approach Butler if he is seen and instead to call 911 with any information about his whereabouts. The search for Butler remains ongoing.
