SOUTH CAROLINA — Police in Georgetown are searching for a suspect they say is armed and dangerous Thursday morning.
According to the Georgetown Police Department, officers are conducting a search in the Historic District for a wanted man who ran from authorities.
Police described the suspect as a Black man wearing a black sweatshirt and tan pants.
Authorities are asking residents in the area to remain inside their homes, lock their doors and immediately report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
Officials are also urging the public to avoid the area while the search continues.
No additional information about the suspect or the circumstances leading to the search has been released at this time.
