
SOUTH CAROLINA — The Union County School District announced Saturday that it is investigating a social media threat involving Union County High School.
According to officials, administrators immediately contacted the Union County Sheriff’s Office after learning of the post. Law enforcement began an investigation right away.
The district said the situation is being addressed quickly with cooperation from the student’s family and law enforcement, and emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the school community.
Administrators also noted that students who saw the post promptly reported it to school officials.
The district said it is taking additional precautions to ensure Union County High School remains a secure environment when students return on Monday.
