FLORIDA — The Tampa Police Department is investigating an apparent road rage shooting that occurred Wednesday near a downtown exit ramp.
The incident took place off the westbound exit to Kennedy Boulevard from the Selmon Expressway. Deputies at the nearby Hillsborough County Courthouse heard gunshots and responded to the scene, where they located the suspect. The suspect was tased and taken into custody.
Police said a red sedan near the scene had multiple bullet holes in its windshield. The driver told authorities she was shaken by the incident but grateful to be unharmed.
The westbound Kennedy Boulevard exit from the expressway, along with North Jefferson Street, remained closed while the investigation continues.
