FLORIDA — Police in Ocala are investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Southeast 3rd Street and Southeast 11th Avenue, according to a statement from the Ocala Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene and temporarily blocked roads in the surrounding area while the investigation was underway. As a precaution, Osceola Middle School was briefly placed on lockdown. The lockdown has since been lifted.
Police said there is no immediate danger to the community. One subject of interest has been taken into custody in connection with the investigation.
