
OHIO — The Gallipolis Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a commercial vehicle crash that occurred Feb. 24 on U.S. 35 near mile marker 17.
According to the patrol, the commercial vehicle was traveling near the Silver Memorial Bridge when it went off the right side of the roadway, striking a guardrail and a concrete wall. The vehicle then continued onto the bridge, hit a center concrete barrier and overturned onto its side.
Authorities said the crash caused the vehicle to spill approximately 200 gallons of diesel fuel and 4,000 gallons of cream liqueur.
The driver was not injured, and no passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
U.S. 35 was shut down for several hours while crews responded to the scene and cleared the roadway.
The crash remains under investigation.
