
PENNSYLVANIA — Law enforcement officials executed a coordinated operation Tuesday against a suspected drug trafficking organization in New Castle, Pennsylvania.
Personnel from DEA Group 66, the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, FBI North County Task Force, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, and the New Castle Police Department served search warrants on locations linked to the organization, which authorities say has been distributing drugs in Western Pennsylvania for the past 6 to 12 months.
Investigators reported the group distributed fentanyl (both powder and counterfeit pills), powder cocaine, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine.
During the operation, authorities seized more than 1 kilogram of suspected powder fentanyl, roughly 2,000 fentanyl-containing pills, half a kilogram of suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded handgun.
A man identified as a target of the investigation was arrested and is awaiting indictment in the Western District of Pennsylvania.
