OHIO — Correctional officers at the Lorain County Jail recently uncovered contraband during routine operations, according to a statement from the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Feb. 20, the sheriff’s office reported that officers found homemade alcohol and pen-and-paper soaked in clipper cleaner, which was allegedly intended to create a hazardous smoking material.

“Thanks to the diligence and professionalism of our correctional officers, this contraband was swiftly discovered and removed, helping to maintain the safety and security of our facility,” the sheriff’s office stated.

Authorities did not disclose whether any inmates faced disciplinary action in connection with the discovery.

No other information has been released at this time.
