KENTUCKY — The Glasgow Police Department has announced a series of traffic safety checkpoints scheduled throughout April in the city of Glasgow.
According to a release, checkpoints will be conducted on Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.
Officials said the checkpoints will not be limited to those locations and may be set up on other roadways throughout the city.
Police said officers will focus on enforcing laws related to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as well as licensing, vehicle registration, insurance requirements, seat belt use, child restraint compliance and vehicle equipment violations.
Authorities said the checkpoints are part of an effort to improve roadway safety and ensure compliance with state traffic laws.
