CLEVELAND — A police pursuit of a reportedly stolen car that began in Medina County concluded with the arrest of two young suspects in Cleveland on Thursday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The chase started just before 1 p.m. Tuesday when troopers spotted a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette that had been reported stolen from Greenville, near Dayton, the previous night.
The vehicle was first seen traveling northbound on Interstate 71 in Montville Township.
Troopers followed the Corvette as it continued onto Interstate 271, then onto Interstate 480, and finally onto State Route 176 before exiting the highway onto Lee Road in Cleveland.
The pursuit ended at around 1:30 p.m. on East 146th Street near Kinsman Road, when OnStar remotely disabled the car.
Both suspects fled on foot but were quickly apprehended. At the scene, troopers recovered a semi-automatic gun that had also been reported stolen.
One of the suspects was taken to a Cleveland children’s hospital as a precaution, while the other, who had been listed as a missing person by Dayton Police, will be returned to Dayton.
Charges against the two are pending as the investigation continues.
