Police attempting to identify theft suspect in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — Police are investigating after a purse stolen from a vehicle at Chickies Rock County Park in June was later used in a bank fraud case, according to the West Hempfield Township Police Department.

Officers said the theft happened between 6:05 p.m. and 7:12 p.m. on June 21 at the park, located in the 800 block of Chickies Hill Road. A suspect broke into a vehicle and stole a purse and its contents.

On Sept. 3, months after the theft, someone used the victim’s identification card to withdraw cash from accounts at two banks in Lancaster and Parkesburg, police said.
