ILLINOIS — Authorities are asking the public’s help in locating a suspected car burglar who targeted vehicles near the University of Illinois campus in early May.
According to officials, the burglaries occurred around 5 a.m. on May 6 near the intersection of Third and Daniel Streets.
A man entered several parked cars and stole items from at least two vehicles. The total value of the stolen items has not been determined.
The suspect was captured on surveillance video and is described as a light-skinned Black male wearing a black jacket over a gray hoodie, along with black pants and black shoes.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Champaign County Crime Stoppers by calling 217-373-8477, visiting their website, or using the P3 Tips app. Tips submitted through these channels are anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward if they lead to an arrest.
