Police arrest wanted fugitive in Ohio following chase

OHIO — A 25-year-old Cincinnati man was arrested June 12 after leading Kentucky State Police (KSP) on an 11-mile pursuit through Carroll County that ended just south of Carrollton.

Terron Depal Minnifield was taken into custody without further incident after troopers successfully disabled his vehicle using a PIT maneuver on I-71, approximately four miles south of the KY 389 interchange.

Minnifield was wanted on felony charges out of Ohio, including strangulation and allegedly attempting to ram officers with his vehicle during an arrest attempt by the West Chester Police Department. Ohio authorities had deployed a StarChase GPS tracking device on Minnifield’s vehicle, which allowed KSP to locate and monitor his movements.

Troopers with KSP Post 5 in Campbellsburg spotted the vehicle near mile marker 51 southbound on I-71 and attempted a traffic stop.

Minnifield fled, prompting troopers to deploy a tire deflation device. Despite having multiple flat tires, he continued to flee until law enforcement brought the vehicle to a stop around mile marker 40.

Minnifield was lodged in the Carroll County Regional Detention Center on multiple charges, including being a fugitive from another state, fleeing or evading police (1st degree), reckless driving, DUI (1st offense), possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, failure to maintain insurance, and other traffic violations.

KSP emphasized the serious risk Minnifield posed by continuing to flee in a damaged vehicle, calling it a “startling disregard” for public and officer safety.
