OHIO — A man wanted in connection with a fatal overdose in Pennsylvania was arrested Friday on Youngstown’s South Side and is now facing additional drug charges in Mahoning County.
Dwaylyn Nadal, 39, was taken into custody and booked into the Mahoning County Jail on charges of possession of fentanyl, a fourth-degree felony, and possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony.
Nadal is also wanted in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, where he faces multiple charges including drug delivery resulting in death; manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture; criminal use of a communication facility; aggravated assault; simple assault; and recklessly endangering another person.
His extradition timeline to Pennsylvania remains unclear.
According to reports, U.S. Marshals alerted local authorities around noon Friday after spotting Nadal in a vehicle on Canfield Road.
When police approached, Nadal fled in the vehicle before being boxed in near Hudson and West LaClede avenues.
He reportedly refused to exit the vehicle for about 10 minutes and only surrendered after a police K-9 was brought to the scene.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a bag of fentanyl and a bag of crack cocaine, according to police.
Nadal was arraigned Monday in municipal court. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 23.
