PENNSYLVANIA — The U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force arrested a man in Upper Darby who was wanted in connection with a violent double stabbing that occurred on November 28, 2024.
Orvin Alexis Lopez Torres, 27, was taken into custody without incident at a residence in the 7200 block of Spruce Street.
Authorities learned of his whereabouts on April 8 and acted swiftly to apprehend him the following day.
Torres is wanted by the Upper Darby Police Department on charges of aggravated assault stemming from the attack, which took place in the unit block of Garrett Road.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, who are part of the task force, determined that Torres is a Honduran national in the U.S. unlawfully.
An ICE detainer has been placed on him, and officials expect he will be taken into ICE custody following his release from Delaware County Prison.
“The Marshals Service is committed to ensuring public safety,” said Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark, “and violent fugitives must be held accountable regardless of their nationality.”
The Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency group led by U.S. Marshals and includes officers from local, state, and federal agencies, all working together to apprehend violent crime suspects in the Philadelphia area and surrounding counties.
