Person covered in mud arrested for stealing vehicle in Ohio

OHIO — A 36-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly stealing a vehicle from the Fairmont High School Fire Science parking lot.

According to the Kettering Police Department, multiple calls came in reporting a nude, mud-covered man running near Dorothy Lane and Far Hills Avenue.

One caller stopped to help the man, who then allegedly took her vehicle and fled west on Dorothy Lane.

Authorities said an unmarked law enforcement vehicle followed the man safely until marked units arrived, ultimately performing a vehicle intercept to make the arrest.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle. Additional charges are pending, and his bond has been set at $175,000.
