PENNSYLVANIA — A staff member in the McKeesport Area School District has been placed on leave following a reported incident involving a student, according to district officials.
In a letter sent to parents, the district said it is currently conducting an internal review after receiving a report about an interaction between the staff member and a student. Specific details about the incident have not been released.
Superintendent Donald MacFann said the employee has been placed on paid leave while the review is underway. He noted that the district is limited in the information it can share at this time.
“Through collaboration and communication, the McKeesport Area School District remains committed to keeping our parents/guardians and community informed and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for all students,” MacFann said in the letter.
District officials have not said when the review is expected to be completed. No additional information about the staff member or the nature of the incident has been made public.
