PENNSYLVANIA — A school district in the Pittsburgh area will operate on a delayed schedule this week due to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Wild Card playoff game.
According to an announcement from McKeesport Area School District, all schools and district offices will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday. Superintendent Donald L. MacFann shared the decision with parents and guardians in a letter sent Sunday.
“We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we make this adjustment,” MacFann said in the message.
The delay follows Monday night’s NFL Wild Card playoff game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Houston Texans. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 8:15 p.m.
District officials did not provide additional details but indicated the delayed start is intended to accommodate the late-night event. Regular schedules are expected to resume following Tuesday’s delay.
