
PENNSYLVANIA — Several school districts and private schools across Pennsylvania have announced schedule changes for Wednesday, January 21, 2026, including remote learning days and delayed openings, due to weather and travel concerns.
In Allegheny County, Founders Hall/McKeesport School District will operate on a full remote learning schedule, with both morning and afternoon classes held virtually for students.
In Clearfield County, DuBois Area School District has declared a Flex Day, allowing the district to adjust instruction schedules based on conditions.
In Dauphin County, Steelton-Highspire School District announced a two-hour delay Wednesday morning.
Several schools in eastern and central Pennsylvania are also delaying the start of the school day by two hours. Hazleton Area School District, Holy Family Academy, Mahanoy Area School District, and MMI Preparatory School will all open two hours late. Mahanoy Area officials noted that the delay includes all transportation services.
School officials remind families to continue monitoring district websites, social media pages, and automated alerts for any additional updates as conditions evolve throughout the day.
