Pennsylvania rapper dead following shooting incident

PENNSYLVANIA — Philadelphia rapper LGP Qua, known for his socially conscious lyrics, was shot and killed on Mother’s Day in the city’s Juniata Park neighborhood.

Police say the shooting occurred shortly before 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, near the intersection of M Street and East Luzerne Street.

Responding officers were informed that the victim had already been transported to Temple University Hospital by a private vehicle.

The victim, identified as 30-year-old Qidere Johnson—known professionally as LGP Qua—was pronounced dead at 4:56 p.m.

No arrests have been made, and police have not released information about a suspect or motive.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
