PENNSYLVANIA — A Cedar Cliff High School employee is accused of stealing nearly $10,000 from the school through ticket sales at athletic events, according to police.

Lower Allen Township police said they were alerted to an internal investigation involving Karen Lauer-Pines, 68. The investigation focused on the alleged theft and misappropriation of cash ticket proceeds from Cedar Cliff High School sporting events.

Police said investigators determined that the alleged theft occurred over several years. From 2018 through the start of the investigation in September 2025, officials reviewed about 274 home athletic events connected to the case.

Authorities say Lauer-Pines manipulated ticket sales during those events, allowing her to steal an estimated $10,000.

Lauer-Pines has been charged with theft by unlawful taking. The investigation began after school officials raised concerns about missing ticket revenue.
