
SOUTH CAROLINA — At least one person was injured in a crash Sunday on Interstate 95 near Yemassee, according to authorities.
The Yemassee Police Department said the crash occurred on the northbound side of I-95 near mile marker 39, where all lanes were initially blocked.
Emergency responders from the Yemassee Police Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol and Hampton Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the scene.
Officials said a medical helicopter was called to the area, though it remains unclear how many people were injured.
As of about 5:48 p.m., one northbound lane had reopened, but traffic remained backed up in the area.
No additional details about the cause of the crash have been released. The incident remains under investigation.
