
SOUTH CAROLINA — Multiple lanes were closed Wednesday evening after a vehicle left Interstate 95 and landed on a street below in Florence County.
According to the West Florence Fire Department, the crash was described as a “complex motor vehicle crash.” Officials said the vehicle traveled off I-95 and landed on West Lucas Street, also known as U.S. Highway 52, below the interstate.
As a result of the crash, several lanes on I-95 southbound and U.S. 52 toward Darlington were shut down.
Authorities said multiple agencies responded to assist at the scene. Motorists were urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while crews worked to clear the roadway.
No information about injuries has been released. Officials have not said what caused the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
