GEORGIA — All northbound lanes of Interstate 95 were closed Thursday following a crash at Ocean Highway/U.S. 17, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

GDOT reported that the incident shut down traffic in the northbound direction as crews responded to the scene.

The agency listed an anticipated end time of 4:50 p.m. for the closure. However, as of the time of writing, GDOT traffic cameras continued to show an overturned semi-truck blocking the roadway.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while emergency responders and road crews work to clear the crash and reopen the interstate. No additional details about injuries or the cause of the crash were immediately available.
