VIRGINIA — Emergency crews responded Friday to a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 81 in Botetourt County, according to officials.
The Troutville Fire Department said multiple units were dispatched to the scene at the 149.6-mile marker on Interstate 81southbound. As a result of the crash, the right travel lane and the right shoulder were closed to traffic.
Authorities urged motorists to use alternate routes while crews work at the scene. No information was immediately released regarding injuries, the cause of the crash, or when the affected portion of the interstate is expected to reopen.
Motorists traveling through the area were advised to expect delays and to use caution if traveling nearby.
