OHIO — State troopers recently seized more than $6 million worth of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 70 in Madison County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the seizure occurred on Jan. 23 when troopers stopped a semi-truck for an inspection along Interstate 70.

An OSHP spokesperson said troopers observed criminal indicators during the stop, prompting the use of a drug-sniffing canine. The canine alerted to the vehicle, leading troopers to conduct a probable cause search of the semi.

During the search, troopers discovered 154 pounds of cocaine hidden inside cabinets within the truck. Authorities estimated the street value of the drugs at approximately $6.3 million.

The driver of the semi, identified as 46-year-old Omar Gonzalez-Flores, was arrested at the scene. Online jail records indicate he is being held at the Tri-County Regional Jail on a felony charge of cocaine possession.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that state troopers seized more than 1,600 pounds of cocaine on Ohio roadways in 2025. The investigation remains ongoing.
