OHIO — Early Monday morning, more than 4,000 FirstEnergy customers in Ohio experienced power outages, with Lorain County being the hardest hit.
By 7:30 a.m., the majority of the outages were concentrated in Elyria and Carlisle Township.
However, power restoration efforts quickly reduced the number of affected customers in Lorain County to around 1,000 by 9:15 a.m.
According to FirstEnergy’s website, full restoration in the area was expected by 9:30 a.m.
Smaller outages were also reported in Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Summit counties.
In Summit County, the power outage disrupted operations at government offices located at 1030 and 1040 Tallmadge Avenue.
Impacted offices include the OhioMeansJobs Center, Clerk of Courts Title Division, Executive Building Standards, and the Fiscal Office Services Department.
Residents needing services at these offices are advised to call ahead for updates.
