GEORGIA — Federal authorities seized more than 325 pounds of methamphetamine from a Norcross storage facility last month, the Department of Justice reported.
U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg said DEA agents observed 47-year-old Marco Cueto-Rosales entering the storage unit on October 10.
A Gwinnett County police K-9 unit later detected the odor of narcotics coming from the unit. When federal agents searched the facility, they recovered over 325 pounds of methamphetamine.
Cueto-Rosales, who was unlawfully in the United States, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
“Although the Mexican cartels stockpile and peddle their poison in our community, the quick actions of law enforcement thankfully took these deadly drugs off the streets,” Hertzberg said.
