ALABAMA — More than 30 people were arrested as part of a multi-week effort targeting individuals with outstanding felony warrants, the Decatur Police Department announced Thursday.
At the direction of Chief Torry Mack, Operation First Light began Aug. 4 as a coordinated effort between the department’s Vice/Narcotics Unit, Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and SWAT team.
During the operation, police located 10 people and took them into custody, while another eight were found to be incarcerated elsewhere and will be extradited once those charges are resolved.
On Sept. 2, officers made contact with 10 more individuals and arrested them. By the conclusion of the operation, 32 people were arrested or turned themselves in.
Arrests included charges ranging from robbery, sexual abuse, sodomy, drug trafficking, and child abuse, to weapons violations, theft, and identity theft. Among those arrested were:
Eight additional suspects, including Jacob Paul Perry, wanted on two counts of robbery in the first degree, are awaiting extradition.
Police said they are still searching for three individuals with outstanding warrants: Zackery Michael Allen Jackson, Zariah Breshun Jones, and Ashley Lashay Miller.
