
VIRGINIA — More than 17,000 homes and businesses in Central Virginia were without power Friday morning following severe thunderstorms that swept through the region on Thursday, June 19.
According to Dominion Energy, the storms, which began Thursday afternoon, caused widespread damage to power lines and infrastructure throughout the Greater Richmond Region.
As of 10:25 a.m. Friday, June 20, the largest remaining outages were reported in:
- Henrico County: 9,917 outages
- Hanover County: 5,121 outages
- Richmond: 2,222 outages
At the height of the storm, nearly 90,000 customers across the region were without electricity.
Dominion Energy crews are working to restore service, and customers are encouraged to check the company’s website for updates and estimated restoration times.
