Over 12 people arrested following drug bust in Florida

FLORIDA — More than a dozen suspected drug dealers have been arrested following a six-month undercover operation dubbed “Summer Slammer,” according to Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly.

During a press conference Wednesday, Staly said the operation focused on targeting drug dealers throughout the county.

Authorities issued 24 arrest warrants as part of the operation. Those named in the warrants have a combined total of 316 prior arrests.

Among the items recovered were one kilogram of cocaine, 120 grams of methamphetamine, 60 grams of fentanyl, various other illegal drugs, 13 firearms, five vehicles, and approximately $22,000 in cash believed to be drug money.

Staly said the most alarming discovery was the amount of fentanyl seized, highlighting the drug’s ongoing threat to the community. One person linked to the investigation overdosed during the operation.

The State Attorney’s Office is pursuing enhanced charges against several suspects, noting that many of the alleged drug activities took place near parks, schools, and day care centers.
