FLORIDA — A 49-year-old DeBary woman was found dead Wednesday morning near an intersection in Lake County, and authorities believe she fell from State Road 429.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the woman’s body was discovered in a grassy area near State Road 46 and Sleepy Bear Lane, between State Road 46 and State Road 429.
Lake EMS and Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead.
Investigators said evidence indicates the woman had been walking along State Road 429 overnight. Authorities believe she tripped near the edge of the roadway and fell approximately 20 to 30 feet.
Officials said foul play is not suspected.
Detectives are working to determine why the woman was in the area and whether a medical episode or impairment may have contributed to the fall. The investigation is focused on her movements leading up to the incident.
The case remains under investigation.
