FLORIDA — A deadly crash in Kissimmee is under investigation after one woman was killed and three other people were injured early Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just after midnight at the intersection of Woodmont Boulevard and Poinciana Boulevard. Troopers said a 24-year-old woman driving a 2024 Kia Forte was stopped facing east on Woodmont Boulevard at a stop sign when she attempted to cross Poinciana Boulevard.
Investigators said the driver failed to yield at the stop sign and entered the path of a southbound 2011 Honda Accord traveling in the inside lane. The front of the Honda struck the left side of the Kia, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
The Kia’s driver and a front-seat passenger, both 24-year-old women from Kissimmee, were transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. A 55-year-old woman who was riding in the back seat of the Kia was also taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Honda, a 39-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
