GEORGIA — A man armed with a machete was arrested Friday morning outside an elementary school in Perry, according to the Perry Police Department.
Police said the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. at Langston Road Elementary School, where a man identified as Cody Alley was reportedly banging on doors outside the building.
Officers responded to the scene and took Alley into custody. Police said no children were present at the school at the time and no one was injured. The only people at the campus were custodial staff preparing for a field day.
Alley was charged with possession of a weapon on school property, disrupting or interfering with a public school, and criminal trespassing, according to police.
