OHIO — A high-speed police pursuit in Brown County ended in a serious crash Friday night after a driver fled from an Ohio State Trooper.
According to authorities, the chase began just after 8 p.m. when a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle that had crossed the center line.
Instead of pulling over, the driver accelerated and sped down US 68, reaching speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.
The pursuit ended when the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle near Sterling Road in Scott Township.
The driver sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities reported that the injuries were not life-threatening, and the driver is expected to recover.
Officials stated that the driver will face multiple charges, including operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI), possession of an open container, and failure to comply.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
