PENNSYLVANIA — A man was hospitalized and a woman taken into custody after a confrontation between two couples escalated into violence late Saturday in the city’s Spring Hill neighborhood.
Pittsburgh Police say officers were called to the 100 block of Rhine Place around 11 p.m. for a report of a fight inside an apartment building.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to a hospital and was last reported to be in stable condition.
According to investigators, the man and a woman had been arguing with another man in a shared hallway regarding noise. The argument intensified and continued inside the second man’s apartment, where a woman and a child were also present.
Police say the woman who initially confronted the neighbors pulled out a firearm and began threatening the second man. In response, the second woman inside the apartment grabbed a knife and stabbed the first man.
The injured man and the woman with the firearm then left the apartment. No shots were fired during the incident.
The woman who brandished the firearm was taken into custody at the scene. Police say charges are expected as the investigation continues.
