One person injured, one arrested following shooting incident in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a Friday evening shooting in Robeson County, North Carolina.

According to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies took Donald Crawford Hunt into custody at the Morgan Britt Apartments off Highway 72 West (Caton Road). Hunt has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Authorities said Hunt is currently being held in the Robeson County Jail.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation began just after 5 p.m. Friday, when officers responded to a reported shooting at 2508 Caton Road, also known as Rob’s Quick Stop. When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was airlifted to a medical center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. No additional information about the victim’s condition was released.
