
NORTH CAROLINA — A man was shot during a confrontation with deputies early Thursday morning in Nash County, authorities said.
The shooting happened around midnight along Tom George Road, off Taylors Store Road, north of Nashville and east of Louisburg.
According to the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were responding to a domestic dispute that turned violent when shots were fired by deputies. One man was shot during the incident. His condition has not been released. No deputies were injured.
Radio traffic indicated the confrontation may have stemmed from an argument involving a knife between a man and a woman, though officials have not confirmed additional details.
The sheriff’s office said there is no threat to the public. A news conference is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, when authorities are expected to provide more information.
The incident remains under investigation.
