SOUTH CAROLINA — One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night in the Longs area that also caused significant traffic disruptions, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.
Emergency crews were dispatched just after 8 p.m. to the area near North Highway 905 and Rolling River Road. Officials said one of the vehicles involved in the crash overturned, while the other struck a utility pole, snapping it in half and blocking lanes of traffic.
Firefighters conducted extrication operations to remove occupants trapped inside one of the vehicles. One person was transported to a hospital for treatment. Another individual involved in the crash declined transport after signing a medical waiver, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area as emergency responders and utility crews remained on scene to clear the roadway and repair the damaged utility pole.
