OHIO — A driver was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after crashing while trying to avoid a fallen tree, according to local police and fire officials.
Emergency crews responded to the 6800 block of Salem-Unity Road around 6 a.m.
Authorities said the driver swerved to avoid a tree in the roadway and ended up crashing into a ditch.
The driver was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The tree temporarily blocked the road but was later removed. The vehicle was towed from the scene, and the roadway has since reopened.
