OHIO — A Warren man was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 20, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just before 1:30 p.m. near County Road 128. Investigators say 42-year-old Trevor Burkholder was driving east when his vehicle veered off the right side of the road.
As he reentered the roadway, Burkholder’s vehicle struck the rear of a truck driven by 47-year-old Joshua Brink of Fremont, who was also traveling east.
After the collision, Burkholder’s car went off the right side of the road again, hit a tree, and overturned. Brink’s vehicle also went off the road, this time to the left, and overturned.
Burkholder was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Brink suffered only minor injuries.
It remains unclear what caused Burkholder to initially go off the road. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
